Mt Zion Early Childhood Learning Center: The Pre-K place to be, Mt Zion’s Early Childhood Learning Center started all new leadership in 2010, with a new curriculum, added enrichment activities and a high-quality Voluntary Pre-K program. Now, under the leadership of Mrs. Beverly Howard (formerly Assistant Director) and our Dean of Enrichment Programming – Minister Kevin Parrott, the Center reached has its highest level enrollment since 2006. Inquire about how we can support your children, grandchildren, and loved ones (ages 2 through 5 welcome). of s of Monday, March 29th, the Center has 66 children enrolled, with 1 additional beginning next Monday (19 of whom are Before & After Care).
Title I Supplemental Educational Services (SES): Over 80% of our students improved their test scores and raised their grades after only 18 weeks of intensive instruction by our tutors. Mt Zion is approved by the Florida Department of Education to offer specialized tutoring for Title I students four days per week. Inquire at your children’s school to find out if they are eligible to take part (children in grades K through 5 accepted).
Reading Enhancement and Math Acceleration Tutorial Programs: If your student is not eligible for the Title I SES program, let us help. For the past decade, Mt Zion has provided free tutoring services after-school to children grades K through 8. Loving volunteers and trained educators give of their time and talent to work hands-on with students who need their help.
Juvenile Welfare Board (JWB) Peer Technology Laboratory: Our state of the art computer lab is funded and staffed by the Pinellas County Juvenile Welfare Board to make help ensure that every child in Midtown has access to the internet and technology they need to succeed.
Summer Camp Adventure: Open five days a week for 11 hours each day, this summer camp is open to enroll 100 children in 2010 – our biggest class ever. With a staff of 8 adults and 6 teen camp counselors, plus weekly field trips and daily academic programming, Mt Zion can help your child have a fun-filled summer and return to school prepared to achieve.
