The American Scouting Organizations has been a bedrock of Christian foundation to the youth of America for over 100 years! Many leaders can attribute early leadership skills to their membership in this fine institution. That is why Mt. Zion is proud to offer three scouting programs:
The Boys and Girls Scouts of America, Mt. Zion chapters are affiliated with the local scouting governing authority who’s official statements of purpose are:
Cub Scouts: Besides providing a positive place where boys can enjoy safe, wholesome activities, Cub Scouting focuses on building character, improving physical fitness, teaching practical skills and developing a spirit of community service.
Boy Scouts: The purpose of the Boy Scouts is to provide an educational program for boys and young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship and to develop personal fitness.
Girls Scouts: Builds girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. *
Cub Scouts meet every Monday in our Children's Center at 7pm. Boys Scouts meet every first and third Monday in Room 101 of our Youth House. Girl Scouts meet every Monday in our gym at 7pm.
